Taking a trip to the moon and back is no longer a fantasy, especially with SpaceX’s next-generation Starship rocket, which has an ambitious vision to bring people to the Moon and Mars. The first rider on SpaceX’s moon flight is a Japanese billionaire named Yusaku Maezawa. With a net worth of $2 billion, he placed a sizeable deposit in September 2018 to secure his place on the spacecraft and even aside additional seats for musicians and artists who will be invited by Maezawa. SpaceX did not go into details but suffice to say that Maezawa’s deposit was enough to pay for the development of the vehicle partially.
To accompany him on board the ship for the trip around the moon and back to Earth, Maezawa advertised for a female partner, making it clear he was looking for a life partner. The contest is open to single women over the age of 20 who have bright personalities, wants to enjoy life to the fullest, and desires world peace. Additionally, they also have to be interested in going to space with Maezawa. The women would be selected in January 2020 with matchmaking dates in February and a final decision being made in March of the year.
The founder of Japan’s largest online retailer Zozotown is undoubtedly an appealing potential partner. He is an avid art collector, having paid $110.5 million for a painting by Jean-Michael Basquiat in 2017. Not just that, he also broke the record for the most retweeted tweet after announcing he would split $9 million between a random group of 1,000 people who shared his tweet about the contest.
